About Us:
Peace River Center (PRC) is a private, not-for-profit,
community mental health organization that was founded in 1948. We have been providing
Polk, Hardee and Highlands Counties with quality mental and
behavioral health care services for over 60 years. With
facilities across Polk, Highlands and Hardee Counties, Peace
River Center is equipped to offer a variety of treatment
options to children and adults in many different settings. PRC
is Accredited by The Joint Commission.
The mission of PRC is to improve the mental health of
individuals in our community. At PRC, the client is our first
priority and we are committed to providing each individual
with care that will enable each person to improve his/her
quality of life.
Funding for Peace River Center services and programs come from
various sources including: Florida Department of Children &
Families, United Way of Central Florida, the Polk Health Care
Plan, Board of County Commissioners for Polk, Highlands and
Hardee counties, Victims of Crime Act and individual, business
and community donors. PRC also accepts many third party
insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and in some cases, PRC
can offer services on a sliding-scale fee basis
Services offered by Peace River Center include Crisis
Stabilization Unit, Outpatient Counseling,
Psychiatric/Medical, Adult Residential Treatment, Case
Management, Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence and Rape
Recovery programs, and 24-hour Crisis Hotline services.
