Congrats to PEEPster of the Year Mary B., Supervisor of Stepping Stones Group Home. She has been with Peace River Center for 26 years and received this award because of her tireless dedication to clients. In addition to a giant plush chickadee Peep, Mary received a one-week stay at the Seven Seas Resort in Daytona Beach and gift cards to help with the getaway.
Ruth Colson, LPN at the Wellness Clinic received Runner-Up PEEPster of the Year because of her willingness to always go above and beyond her duties to help provide the best experience for clients. She has been with Peace River Center since 2016. She received a stuffed bunny Peep and a VISA Gift Card.
What is a PEEP?
Promoting Employee Engagement through Play & Service (PEEPS) is Peace River Center’s employee engagement program. A few years ago when the PEEPS committee wanted a way to more directly recognize staff who went above and beyond to help clients and their co-workers, they launched the plush PEEPs. There are six of them named according to their color: Blueberry, Kiwi, Papaya, Pineapple, Plum, Raspberry. Every two weeks six staff members are awarded the plush Peeps along with their nomination story. At the end of the month, they then PEEP It Forward, nominating two people outside of their department and campus who have not received the PEEP that calendar year. They compose letters on why each nominee is PEEP-worthy, then the PEEP committee makes the final selections. The previous PEEP recipient receives a smaller keepsake PEEP and the plush PEEP moves to the next person.
Ruth and Mary were the lucky recipients selected from a group of 22 PEEPs. Congratulations ladies!
