Employment Solutions That Work

Transitional Employment guarantees coverage for your business, provides tax benefits, and empowers individuals with disabilities to return to the workforce.

What is Transitional Employment?
Transitional Employment (TE) is temporary paid competitive work in an integrated setting with ongoing support for individuals with disabilities. These six to nine month engagements give Peace River Center Club Success members an opportunity to regain self-confidence and self-worth. TE opportunities are meant to provide work experience and practice skills like arriving to work on time, developing stamina, and getting along with supervisors and co-workers. TE, which is normally part-time (15-20 hours a week) serves as a stepping stone to independent employment. These employees are reimbursed for hours worked like any other employee.

How does it work?
The TE Site Supervisor from Club Success learns all aspects of the job to aid in the training of members placed in the position. He or she works side by side with the TE employee until all parties are satisfied and the employee is ready for independent placement.

The Club Success TE Site Supervisor has daily contact and makes periodic site visits. If a TE employee needs additional guidance or termination, Club Success staff will assist with any changes without disruption to quality or production until a replacement is trained.

What is the advantage for employers?
Guaranteed coverage. If for any reason the TE employee is absent from work, the TE Site Supervisor will fill in with no cost to the employer.

Additionally, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) offers tax deductions to businesses meeting criteria for the Disabled Access Credit and Work Opportunity Credit.

How much is the pay for the TE position?
The rate of pay is the prevailing current minimum wage with no benefit package required for a TE employee.

Learn more or find out how your business can benefit from a TEP partnership with Club Success by calling 863.512.1280 or 863.275.0272 or emailing clubsuccess@peacerivercenter.org.
