Domestic Violence Advocate

Do you have a passion for helping people? Come join our team of passionate advocates helping survivors of domestic violence to move forward with their lives.

The shelter advocate provide assistance to participants at the shelter and oversight of activities/premises. Advocates assist with facilitating support groups within the Shelter and the community, complete intake paperwork, goal plan and service documentation for survivors of domestic violence who enter the Shelter.

Details: Full-time position available for Lakeland.

Pay: $11.50 hourly

Summary: This is a non-degreed position that will require the employee to provide oversight of participants at the shelter. Assist with facilitating support groups within the Shelter and the community. Complete intake paperwork and service documentation for survivors of domestic violence who enter the Shelter. Comply with all nutritional Grant program Requirements that include: ensuring food is available per menu, food is set out at appropriate times; accurate documentation is completed immediately.  Provide transportation for shelter participants, as needed.

Qualifications: HS Dip/GED. Age 25 requirement for driving our vehicle, when needed. Must be able to act professionally with all associates and customers. Will work independently and be able to take guidance and direction from Supervisors. Peace River Center is a Drug Free workplace and requires an approved DCF Level 2 background clearance.
