Recovery Month

Celebrating Those in Recovery

National Recovery Month is held every September to educate Americans that mental illness recovery services and substance use treatment can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live healthy, independent lives.

Peace River Center Recovery Programs

We define recovery services as services available to individuals who have a severe and persistent mental illness. We know that with the right tools and support systems, individuals with a mental illness, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorders can and do recover. Peace River Center offers a variety of recovery programs that help individuals gain the skills they need to live life to the fullest.

Below are a few videos from individuals impacted by our recovery programs. Stay tuned for more videos coming throughout Recovery Month!

Honoring Kathleen’s Legacy

Kathleen Roehm was a beloved member of the Peace River Center Community Relations Team. She had a passion for positively influencing others and helping them realize their full potential. Whether it was a kind word on a hard day or advocating for individuals with a mental illness by sharing her connection to Peace River Center’s resources, she radiated hope. So many individuals shared stories of how behind the scenes Kathleen was quietly connecting them or their loved ones to resources or stepping in to fill a community need.

During Recovery Month, Kathleen logged miles for our Virtual Marathon, sharing the importance of our mission with each step and post. We have retired the Virtual Marathon, but will continue her legacy of abundant generosity and service to others by establishing the Kathleen Roehm Memorial Fund. Much like Kathleen’s approach to resolving any need she came across, this fund will address any needs or opportunities that arise across Peace River Center.
