Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)

…because sexual violence shatters lives, wounds communities and perpetuates injustice.

What is a SART team?

It is a community-wide multi-disciplinary coordinating group that promotes a comprehensive response to sexual assault.

What are the community benefits of SART?

  • Ensures victims have the best and most comprehensive services available
  • Provides a forum for discussion and problem solving for service providers, investigators, and prosecutors
  • Helps bring perpetrators to justice
  • Assists communities in creating coherent and effective protocols
  • Improves communication and fosters a good working relationship among agencies
  • Informing professionals about emerging technologies in forensic science, including toxicology and biology (DNA) where there are continuing advances and improvements in the techniques and processed being employed

Learn More, Attend an Upcoming Virtual SART Meeting

We meet virtually (Zoom) every other month on the fourth Tuesday at 3 p.m. for Polk County and the fourth Wednesday at 3 p.m. for Hardee/Highlands.
