Outpouring of Generosity
Community Partners Make the Holidays Extra Special
Most people know we live in a very compassionate and generous community, but wow this year our incredible partner organizations went above and beyond to make the holidays extra special for the individuals and families we serve.
- CPS Investment Advisors made specific Christmas wishes come true for 247 children served by our Children’s Services programs and those either living in our domestic violence (DV) shelters or served by our DV outreach program
- Margarita Ball Society provided 130 toys for kids/teens served through our children’s programs and domestic violence program, plus they donated $1,000 to purchase additional items
- First United Methodist Church and its congregation provided toiletry items and snacks for 200 holiday client bags
- Prisbe Dental, Hanes for Good Sock Drive, MIDFLORIDA Credit Union, and knitters from the Colonnades community also helped provide items for those holiday client bags
- Bonnet Springs Park collected blankets, non-perishable food, and toiletry items for our clients during their holiday movie night
- Lakeland Regional Health emergency department donated a truck-load of learning toys for babies, art supply kits, and more
- Later this week, Chastain-Skillman is providing Wish List items, including toiletries to help stock our adult case management and Care Coordination supply closets so that clients experiencing a rough patch have essentials
- Bath & Body Works from around the tri-county area provided not only products, but also other gifts including sheet sets, pillows, toys, towels, and more for our domestic violence survivors
- The Shoebox Project will provide goodie boxes for our domestic violence survivors
- Bikers who C.A.R.E. will give us monetary funds to help fill any last minute holiday needs
- Plus there are tons of other quilting groups, churches, community groups, and individuals who have donated to make the holidays merry and bright for Peace River Center clients and families
Looking for a way to give back? Help mental health clients, domestic violence survivors, and sexual assault survivors by donating to our end of year campaign. We are just over one-third of the way towards reaching our $30,000 goal!
